Expert's Corner Happy New Year Jim White — Intertech Partner and Instructor
With the New Year, it’s a time for resolutions. Here are Intertech’s nine resolutions for 2007:
- We resolve to continue to deliver the best instructor-led, software development focused training. For 2006, we had a record year and finished with a 99.5%+ customer satisfaction rating.
- With our DevBlitz event on March 29th at the Minneapolis Convention Center, we resolve to deliver the first large scale, hands-on conference focused exclusively on Vista and .NET 3.0 development. With internationally known best-selling authors delivering the sessions and MSDN magazine, Microsoft, and Apress as sponsors, if you do .NET, this is the 3.0 event. We expect it to fill—register early.
- Through our investment in research and development on the latest Java, .NET, and software development practices, we resolve to deliver new Complete coursesaround open source technologies, .NET 3.0, and SOA. If you have input on where we should be focusing our R&D efforts, fire me an e-mail.
- We resolve to continue to sponsor the Twin Cities Java User Group (TCJUG). For over a decade, this has been a free-of-charge way for Java developers to stay on top of their game.
- We resolve to continue to sponsor the Visual Studio Team System Minnesota (VSTS MN) User Group. Like TCJUG, we’re the founding sponsor of VSTS MN and provide the user group at no cost to members.
- To further support our software development community, we resolve to continue to offer free Oxygen Blast seminars. Our first Oxygen Blast is on .NET 3.0 and is being held at Microsoft on January 24th.
- For our corporate clients, we resolve to offer pre- and post-class assessments to allow you to measure your learning investment. If you’re interested, talk to your account executive.
- We resolve to offer pre-screen examinations to ensure students meet the prerequisites and have a solid classroom experience.
- We resolve to continue our commitment to publishing and speaking—look for us on DevX.com, in your favorite tech magazines, and at national conferences.
With our resolutions “out there”, it’s time for us at Intertech to roll-up our sleeves and make good on our promises (if I could only be this clear on my personal New Year’s resolutions!).
Happy New Year,
Jim White
