Expert's Corner Happy Holidays Davin Mickelson — Intertech Instructor
Get ready to be blitzed by Vista. Or, if you want to be the one doing the blitzing, keep reading… With Vista available now to volume license customers and to consumers on January 30, 2007, there’s a series of new capabilities with Microsoft’s .NET 3.0 extensions. These extensions bring new Foundations for application development:
- The Windows Presentation Foundation lets developers leverage Vista’s 3-D capabilities and animations
- The Windows Communication Foundation gives architects and developers a platform for building web service applications in a unified programming model with managed code
- The Windows Workflow Foundation delivers a built-in rich workflow programming model
To help developers ramp up on the all-new Vista developer features fast, Intertech is teaming up with Microsoft and hosting a DevBlitz on March 19, 2006. The DevBlitz is an 11-hour hands-on conference that gets you into .NET 3.0 fast. For now, save the date and stay tuned.
For my Java friends, check out fellow instructor, Jim White’s, article on JUnit testing for ME. Also, if you’re a Java person and are not signed up for the Twin Cities Java User Group, register today.
Happy (early) Holidays, Davin Mickelson Intertech Instructor
