.NET and Open Source

The .NET Framework has opened up the open-source universe to Microsoft developers. From open source build tools (nant) to documentation tools (ndoc) to testing tools (nunit / vil) and alternative .NET IDEs (SharpDevelop, etc), the choices are wide and growing.  To help you understand your choices, Intertech's first seminar in the Oxygen Blast 2006, Power Seminars for Software Developers is on .NET and open source.

At this free, limited-seating seminar, attendees will not only learn how to craft .NET assemblies from outside the walls of Visual Studio, but will also walk away with dozens of resources for future exploration.  If you're interested attending this free, limited seating event on March 31rst @ Microsoft's Minnesota location, sign-up on our website.  If you're interested in a deeper plunge check out our 3-day offering.

Intertech's 3-day Complete Open Source .NET exposes .NET developers to the world of open source tools which target the .NET platform. Once qualifying the “open source mindset”, attendees will investigate the role of the CLI (Ecma-334 and Ecma-335) and several .NET distributions. The bulk of the course examines numerous open source development options including NAnt, NDoc and NUnit. The role of application logging (Log4Net) and Continuous Integration (CI) will also be examined. During the course, attendees will build numerous applications using the open source tools and techniques.
