Contract-First Web Services: 6 Reasons to Start with WSDL and Schema

“I believe that there is a strong tendency for developers
to think of Web services as methods. In reality it is not
that simple. A Web service defines an XML conversation
between client and server. Yet, when a developer sits
down to create Web services he or she usually starts
by creating a method,” states Intertech Instructor
and author Steve Close in his article published
in SOA Webservices Journal.

 Editorial Corner

Jim
White

Hi,

Welcome to this year’s final issue of the Software Developer.  With the holidays around the corner, we have another newsletter packed with goodies.

On the Java front, one of my fellow Java Instructors, Steve Close, has published an article in SOA Webservices Journal.  Steve shares his insights creating web services by starting with WSDL and Schema.

On the Microsoft front, I’m proud to announce that Intertech has achieved Gold Certified Partner Status.  Gold Certified Partners represent the highest level of competence and expertise with Microsoft technologies and have the closest working relationship with Microsoft.

Finally, ending the year on another high note, Andrew Troelsen, Intertech partner and fellow instructor, has been nominated to receive the Microsoft Award for Customer Excellence.  This nomination is based on Andrew’s extraordinary contribution to Visual Studio 2005.  Congrats Andrew!

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for ’06,

Jim White
